A little bit about me and Chez Crochet...

I'm Ellie, the maker behind Chez Crochet. I'm currently a senior in high school in Illinois. I play basketball, am a trombone section leader in my school's band and my favorite subjects are science and math. I will be attending Oglethorpe University in Atlanta starting in the Fall of 2021 where I will be pursuing my engineering degree and playing on the Women's Basketball team.

I have had opportunities to study that many girls around the world do not have. I am not okay with the inequity I see in our world and I believe we can each take steps to bring resources and opportunities to those who might otherwise not have them. I am not sure how much of a difference one person can make, but I'll never know unless I try. This is why I have decided to donate all of the profits from the sale of my RBG Keychains to Malala Fund, which is working for a world where every girl can learn and lead. Proceeds from the sales of my other items will go toward funding my own college education.

My mom, Amy, is the artist behind Amy Kae Atelier and is mentoring me as I take my love of crochet and turn it into a business that lets me raise money to support girls around the world in having access to education. One way she is supporting my business venture is by giving me a place to sell my creations until I am able to have a store of my own. My little section of Amy Kae Atelier is called Chez Crochet. Thank you so much for being here and supporting not just me, but girls all around the world.
