This statement necklace is made with a large rectangular dendritic opal cabochon and sterling silver. It was handcrafted with a simple setting to show off the stunning stone, which reminds me of looking through a frosty window on a cold winter night with the moon lighting up the snowy landscape. While the setting is very simple, it hides something unexpected, and the back of this necklace is just as special as the front. I cut out a round "moon" and painstakingly placed the words "on the longest nights look to the moon to find your way" on the back as a hidden surprise. I am in love with unexpected details in design and in life in general and adding these words brings an extra bit of magic to an already special necklace. It is mean to be worn just above or near the heart. It comes on a 16" oxidized sterling silver chain with a 2" extender, so that it works with any outfit you wear and layers perfectly with other necklaces.
Dendritic opal gets its name from the dendrites, or tree-like inclusions, found within the milky opal that forms the main part of this stone. This very powerful and mystical stone resonates with all of the chakras and can be helpful to anyone on a path of spiritual growth. This form of opal is believed to help bring organization to one's thoughts, feelings and ways of being. It helps bring acceptance and appreciation of others as they are.
